Perfume Or Cologne?

Looking good has always been a must for everyone, especially for the fairer sex. Having an appealing look will have many advantages, like getting job promotions and widening your social circle. But, what many people tend to forget that they might not smell that nice. You could be dressed to kill, but can also stink to kill too.

Many people have different solutions to the body odor (B.O) problem. Some apply extra deodorant before going out. The logic to that is that if there is no sweat, there is no smell. That method actually works, especially for people who are just content with masking their B.O. But, what about those who not only want to smell nice, but also want to have a signature scent?

The answer is simple: Perfumes and colognes. These two have been the loyal friends of the civilized world for centuries. And yet, many people can't seem to differentiate them.

1) Perfume is made of essential oils with differing degrees of concentrations, based on the brand. It is mostly made of water and ethanol, solvents, which are needed to dilute the chemicals. Without them, the oil extract could harm the user's skin and even cause death if the user has an allergic reaction.

Perfumes have a longer effect on the human skin and normally last around 7 to 8 hours. The strength of the smell is dependant on the percentage of oils. The best way to wear perfume is to spray a fine mist into the air and let it coat you body. If it's strong-smelling, just spray a few drops at your neck.

2) Colognes, or eau de cologne, are another type of perfume, but due to its popularity and uniqueness, it has been categorized as its own. It normally has a lower concentration oils than perfume, around 2% to 5%. This causes it to lose its scent quicker than perfume, so it's advisable to have one bottle handy if you're out for a long time.

The best way to apply cologne is to dab it at the back of your neck and on both of your wrists. These are pulse sites, which will actually give off the smell to the surrounding air.

Perfumes and colognes are the best way to combat B.O. If you are out partying the entire night, it is really worth it to have a small bottle of either around with you.

I've had troubles with choosing right perfume or cologne for me or a gift for someone else. I have been around perfume and cologne for over 20 years. A great website I've found and used many times to purchase discount perfume and cologne is http://www.parfumy.com/
